Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Mueller assumed the position of Chief Operating Officer at the end of 2007, with responsibility for the company’s property operations, asset management business, acqusitions, dispositions, structured investments and finance.

He has been Archstone’s Chief Financial Officer since December 1998, with responsibility for the planning and execution of Archstone’s financial strategy, balance sheet management and corporate functions, as well as for oversight of the company’s accounting/financial reporting, corporate finance, investor relations, tax, due diligence, risk management, human resources and ancillary services. Mr. Mueller has negotiated and closed many significant transactions, including public offerings, unsecured and mortgage debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate dispositions, revolving credit facilities and other financings. He held various other management positions within the company and its predecessors and affiliates since April 1994.

Mr. Mueller is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the National Multi-Housing Council, as well as a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and a member of the Development Board of Colorado UpLIFT. He is also a member of the Valor Christian Schools Board of Trustees and a Director of Urban Youth Ministries.

Mr. Mueller received his M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University and his B.B.A. in real estate and finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
