R. Scot Sellers Chief Executive Officer
Under his guidance, Archstone has evolved into one of the most respected—and innovative—apartment companies in America.
In the last 12 years, the company has earned a leadership position in virtually all aspects of the apartment business including branding, capital redeployment and technological innovation. In addition, the company recently completed a dramatic repositioning of its portfolio now concentrated in many of the nation’s most desirable and sought-after neighborhoods. With over 28 years experience in the apartment industry, Mr. Sellers has been responsible for the development, acquisition and operation of more than $40 billion of apartment communities.
Mr. Sellers serves as the 2006 Chair for the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) and is a member of the Executive Committee of the National Multi-housing Council. In addition, Mr. Sellers was named as 2005 Entrepreneur of the Year in real estate for the Rocky Mountain Region by Ernst & Young. Prior to joining Archstone-Smith, he held senior positions with Security Capital Group Incorporated and Lincoln Property Company.
Mr. Sellers received his M.B.A. from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a B.S. from Lewis and Clark College.
