Archstone Boston Common Grand Opening Party Celebrates
Downtown’s Newest Luxury Apartments
Boston - March 16, 2007 - Archstone Boston Common is making its mark on the local real estate scene after its grand opening was held Wednesday evening at the premiere 420-unit luxury apartment building on Washington Street, a short block from Boston Common. Business, political and community leaders attended the event showcasing Archstone Boston Common’s spectacular apartments and upscale amenities. Guests enjoyed delectable cuisine provided by award-winning chef Marc Orfaly of Pigalle and Marco restaurants.
“We are proud to have Archstone Boston Common be an anchor in this great neighborhood.” said Karl Trieschman, group vice president, Archstone-Smith. “The neighborhood continues to evolve through an array of exciting developments. This project is an example of how the new Boston needs to maintain strong roots in the communities that have thrived here for generations.”
Special events took place throughout the evening. Guests who ventured into the 75-foot infinity pool area were greeted by "Mermaid Julie" and two “Lifestyle Guards.” Outside the pool area, guests enjoyed hand massages offered in the spa room, a small enclave filled with votive candles, orchids and plush pillows. The Club Suite featured Chef Orfaly’s Asian Taco Bar where guests lingered near the 12-foot Caesar stone chef’s table watching Orfaly prepare tacos made to order in front of them. Past the Club Suite in the community’s Game Room, the party featured a Monte Carlo styled card dealer, offering guests the chance to play “high roller” at a hand of blackjack or poker.
“Bostonians are intrigued and drawn to Archstone Boston Common because of the state-of-the-art amenities we offer. Still, this grand opening event provides us the chance to showcase the excellent service which Archstone guarantees,” said James Dunlop, senior vice president, Archstone-Smith. “It’s great for guests and future residents to experience first hand the service of an Archstone Community. We are proud to offer the newest luxury apartments in Boston and bring a new style of apartment living to the city.”
Guests toured the newly opened 28th-floor penthouse apartment that offers a spectacular view of the Boston skyline. They were warmed by the gas fireplace while they enjoyed the sunset and twinkling lights of nearby buildings. Guests ventured out to the penthouse balcony throughout the night to get a glimpse of the State Street and Boston Harbor views. After the penthouse tour, guests worked their way down to the 18th floor to view one of Archstone’s beautifully furnished model apartments.
“Long before this project became a reality, Archstone Smith understood how important the community’s contributions would be to make our vision a reality. The mayor’s office, the BRA and the City Council and the neighborhood have all been incredibly supportive of Archstone Boston Common,” added Trieschman. “We are committed to this neighborhood and look forward to years of partnership with the community.”
